Open Door Mission - Stan Latta

Stan Latta

Stan Latta is Director of Men’s Ministries at Open Door Mission.

Stan earned a Bachelor Degree in Bible and Humanities and a Masters in Counseling from Grace University here in Omaha. He is also Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Grace University.

Stan was the first graduate counseling student to do a practicum at Open Door Mission. Upon completion, he continued his ministry with the men and led a weekly group for about 18 months.

After more education in drug and alcohol counseling, Stan became the Director of the Psychiatric Assistant programs at Vatterott College. It was through scheduling internships for students that he discovered that Open Door Mission was seeking a Director of Men’s Ministries, and he applied for the position. In 2004, he joined the ODM staff. “My heart has always been, and still is, with the men at Open Door Mission.”

Stan LattaStan and his wife, Carol, were married in 1973. They have three adult children and six grandchildren.

Open Door Mission is a Gospel Rescue Mission founded in 1954. Each day, Open Door Mission ministries provides 320 men, women, and children with safe shelter beds, serves nearly 1,500 hot nutritious meals, and provides preventive measures to more than 250 families living in poverty. to meet the basic physical needs of the hungry and homeless, the Open Door Mission’s day facility services provide free transportation from the downtown area to Open Door Mission and Lydia House. Open Door Mission offers life-changing programs for those recovering from life-altering addictions and abuse to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty.
