Open Door Mission provides emergency shelter
and recovery services for men who are homeless and in need of immediate help.
Our programs begin by meeting the basic needs of food, shelter, and clothing,
then expand to help the individual take the first steps toward preventing future
homelessness.
Those who need Emergency Services may participate in individualized
strength-based case management or resource case management. The goal of this programs is for each individual to find housing, secure a job, save money, discover
what has caused them to be homeless, and take the first steps in turning away from
that cause.
Step Up Program
The Step Up Programs “reconnects” homeless men with society. During a
90-day stay at Open Door Mission, men attend life skills classes, Bible classes,
and classes in the Computer Learning Center. A 12-step programs is available for
those who want to seek recovery.
Men enrolled in the Step Up Programs volunteer around the ODM facilities. This engages
them in a healthy work environment and develops the skills necessary for gainful
employment.
Day Facility
The Jacob Rand Day Room offers services for homeless men who
may have physical or mental conditions and need a safe place to stay through the
day. Some men work the night shift and need a quiet place to rest during the day.
Through the Day Facility programs , men have access to medical services, our laundry
facility, computers, and a caring staff who is always available to provide spiritual
guidance and other resources.
